I don't usually frequent this side of Dubai, Dubai Festival City, that is; since it's far from my place (I live in Burjuman area). But for the past couple of months, you would most likely spot me in Dubai Festival City Mall every Friday. That is because I go to the gym with Mark at DFC Mall on Fridays. :p
Now that we're both trying to eat healthy, we put our Saturday habit to a halt and made way for a Friday routine instead. On Fridays our day would either start with a morning workout then breakfast, or end with an afternoon workout followed by dinner.
Just last week, after our afternoon workout, I got this huge craving for steak, so we decided to have a post-workout dinner at TGI Fridays.
The place was packed, there were a couple of families on the waiting list, when we arrived. Good thing we immediately scored a table for two. We both jumped right to the steaks section of the menu and placed our orders. Mark ordered the New York Strip and had it medium well, while I went for a well-done Classic Ribeye steak. Both our steaks were a 315-gram 100% premium beef, and came with a choice of two sides: Seasonal Vegetables and Portobello Mushroom for Mark, and Ultimate Mac & Cheese and Broccoli with Garlic Butter for me. For the steak sauce, we both went for the Tennessee Sauce.
I've been on a low- to no-carb diet for quite a while and it was really a struggle for me to drop ordering a dessert. Just when I thought that I was doing pretty well with controlling my cravings, I just had to give in and order mac & cheese and a glass of diet Pepsi (since Mark also had one). :p

Because it was a busy hour, we were advised that serving time will be around 30-45 minutes. Our orders came a little over 30 minutes.
We weren't aware that the mushrooms were battered and deep-fried, plus, they gave me Mushroom Sauce instead of Tennessee. We've already waited for a while and were so hungry we no longer had the energy to complain and have them replaced, so Mark just swapped his mushrooms with my broccoli, we just shared with his sauce, and went on with our dinner.
The swap turned out to be in my favor as the mushrooms were really good! It felt like I was eating fried chicken tenders, yum! Didn't like the Mac & Cheese that much, though. It was more like a bland Alfredo penne with bacon—not the mac & cheese that I had in mind.
|Mark, so into it with "blogger duties". Sometimes I wonder who's the blogger between us two!|
